Episode IV: A New Hope

unused footage: desert wasteland - gallery

The setting for Luke's vaporator repairs in the Tatooine desert wasteland was also the location for a fair amount of still-image photography. The pictures below show a few variations of the farmer's garb which was designed for actor Mark Hamill to wear. One can also see from the occasional overcast that Tunisia did not always provide the blazing sunlit desert which the film required.
